Prince awarded National Dropout Prevention Specialist certificate

At the National At-Risk Dropout Prevention Forum held February 19-22, at the Embassy Suite-Kingston Plantation at Myrtle Beach, Clemson University’s College of Education National Dropout Prevention Center awarded Marlon Eugene Prince, of Bennettsville, the National Dropout Prevention Specialist Certificate and Award for having completed the professional development requirements of the National Dropout Prevention Network fifteen dropout prevention strategies.
These strategies include:  
School and Community Perspective (Safe Learning Environments-School Community Collaboration-Systemic Renewal)
Early Interventions ( Early Childhood Education-Early Literacy Development-Family Engagement)
Basic Core Strategies (After-School/Out of School Opportunities-Alternative schooling-Mentoring/Tutoring and Service Learning)
Making the Most of Instruction (Active Learning-Career and Technical Education-Educational Technology-Individualized Instruction-Professional Development
The National Dropout Prevention Specialist Certification Network currently has 432 enrolled participants and Prince is 1 of 32 who have received certification and will be listed on the National Dropout Prevention Network as a Certified Specialist.  Prince is an employee of the Marlboro County School District.
The keynote speaker at the forum was Dabo Swinney, head coach of Clemson’s national championship football team.
