Animal Services Director Stephanie Jones is devoted to dogs and cats in Marlboro County.
"I have a lot of passion for getting the animals out of here. I have a lot of ideas for programs and things to hopefully decrease the intake numbers."

BLENHEIM -- William Minor has spent the last several years traveling throughout this country following weather patterns.
Recently, he spent a few days at the Blenheim Fire Department.
Minor, who is 75, has traveled by bicycle with all of his belongings to help him feel and see the changes in the weather.

WALLACE -- A vigilant Wallace Elementary/Middle student prevented a possible tragedy Tuesday after overhearing a threat made by a fellow student.
A 14-year-old Wallace Elementary/Middle School student was arrested by Marlboro County Sheriff’s deputies and charged with disturbing the school and threatening the life of a public official.
Capt. Sara Albarri of the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office said another student had overheard the 14-year-old make threats last Thursday and told a school staff member Tuesday morning.
A 14-year-old Wallace Elementary Middle School student was taken into custody by Marlboro County Sheriff Office Tuesday morning after being overheard making a threat last week.
Capt. Sara Albarri said another student overheard the 14-year-old making threats last Thursday and told a school staff member this morning.
"He or she could have possibly saved some lives at the school," Albarri said.
The Bennettsville Police Department is seeking help from the public in locating a missing person.
BPD Lt. Larry Turner said the family of Shelby L. Head contacted the department on Monday, February 12 about the disappearance of Head.
Family members said they had not heard from her since November of 2017.
Information gathered led investigators to believe Head's last possible known whereabouts were at 17 Patton Street in Bennettsville, around Nov. 18, 2017.
