By far, the topic that took up the most time during a three-hour meeting of the Marlboro County Board of Education Monday was the matter of how agendas are set for the board meetings.
It started with a statement read by Artemus Woods concerning the addition of items from individual board members to the agendas. He said all board members should be allowed to voice their opinions about these matters prior to the meetings.
Currently, the agenda format includes "Individual Items from Board Members." Board policy states that board members may request items for the meeting agendas, and that the agendas are to be set by the chairman and superintendent.
