Turnovers doom Bulldogs against North Myrtle Beach
The frustration was evident on every face on the Marlboro County sidelines as the clock ran out against North Myrtle Beach last Friday night.
After leading 14-7 late in the second quarter, the Bulldogs collapsed under the weight of turnovers and missed assignments.  The Chiefs pulled away for a 35-14 victory in the important Region 7-AAAA game.

Football season on hold another week
It will be another fall Friday night without high school football in Marlboro County.  The Bulldogs' contest with Myrtle Beach, like games throughout the eastern part of the state, has been rescheduled due to the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.

At the midway point of the regular season, the Marlboro County football team is looking to turn their season around.  One of the biggest obstacles in that quest is negativity.
Losing games vacuums away all the confidence and positive energy that surrounded the team a month ago.  Unfortunately, the Bulldogs cannot look to the stands to get reinforcement.

MCHS - Scotland game moved to Thursday night

Marlboro County High's varsity football game with Scotland County has been moved to Thursday night.  MCHS head coach Dean Boyd announced Scotland County's decision Wednesday morning, citing the chance of severe thunderstorms predicted for Friday night. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. instead of the scheduled 7:30.   The junior varsity game, that was set for Thursday night, has been cancelled.
