Marlboro County wrapped up its pre-holiday basketball schedule with a 50-38 home victory over Scotland County last Thursday night.  The Bulldogs used a 17-7 advantage in the fourth quarter to pull away down the stretch.

Marlboro County held off a late Dillon rally to pick up a 68-60 win in basketball action Tuesday night.
After a Kijana Johnson dunk and a layup by Tylik Johnson, the Bulldogs held a 57-41 lead with just over five minutes left.
However, Marlboro County lost their momentum after a lengthy pause in the action due to a powder being spilled from the stands onto the court.

Bulldogs continue hot start with two road wins

The Marlboro County High basketball team continued its hot start with a pair of one-sided road victories.
Last Friday, the Bulldogs blasted Cheraw 76-55.  They pulled away from Lumberton (NC) Tuesday night for a 67-57 win.
"I was proud of the way we came out and handled a hostile environment at Cheraw.  We got off to a quick start and made them battle from behind all night," said Bulldog head coach James Pate.

This is the year that James Pate has been working toward.  After taking his lumps for the past several seasons, the Marlboro County High head basketball coach believes this is the season that the Bulldogs can return the favor.

With the regular season behind and the playoffs about to begin, Marlboro County High head football coach Dean Boyd has one request of the community.
That is to come to McAlpine Stadium to support the local team as they take on St. James High School Friday night.
"In the playoffs, that first win is always the toughest to get.  We need a large, vocal crowd to help us get to the next round," said Boyd.
